God will take care of you.
My husband was laid off for about 3 years and had intermittent odd jobs during that time.
One month, I had $40 for the month for groceries.
How was I going to make forty dollars cover a month of groceries?
I wasn’t sure what to do. I mentioned it to 3 people: my mom, a friend, and our pastor. I didn’t want to seem like we were begging. It took a huge swallowing of my pride to even mention it to those 3 people.
Next thing I knew, my mom showed up with bags of groceries including meat from her deep freezer.
A lady from church dropped off a gift card to a grocery store in addition to items from the church’s food pantry. The gift card was such a blessing because of my restricted diet.
Eggs and produce showed up on my doorstep one morning. Tucked inside the egg carton was $50 in cash. That may not seem like much, but it more than doubled what I had for groceries before.
A basket showed up on my doorstep later, containing chocolate, tea, and a tea cup with a verse on it.
Over and over, I have been floored by God’s care and provision in spite of my doubt that He would provide!
Even describing this now I’m tearing up, overwhelmed with gratitude.
I don’t doubt Him [much] anymore.
When I do I remember this story!
I have seen Him work mightily in us and for us.
I remember King David testifying to God’s provision when he said in Psalms, “I was young, but now I am old, yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken or his children begging bread.”
I know the God we serve. I know that He will provide for you.
Maybe not in your timing.
Maybe not in the way you wanted.
But He has promised to supply all of our needs until the time He calls us Home.
We serve a faithful God.
I heard it said one time that what if God chose not to provide? What if we were to starve to death? What an honor to stand before the Throne in Heaven and know that you died with His praise still on your lips regardless of what trial He put you through.
In conclusion, I offer this quote from Swiss Family Robinson in which the father declared his undying faith in God.
May his words of faith encourage you.
My faith has increased so much in the last few years. I trust you will say the same thing soon.
